Product Care & Maintenance

Your furniture is manufactured by hand, with attention to detail and finishing using only high end quality materials. However we would like you to consider some imperfections in the timber that may come to your attention that we feel are acceptable as timber is living and will change as years go by…

What you may notice on your White Beech Timber Furniture

  • Checks: (small splits or chips from machining) these will disappear as you wash your furniture. A light sand may be required
  • End Checking:  (fine cracks in the end grain which is where the timber breaths). These will open and close depending on the weather.
  • Spotting: (small black spots that may appear during its metamorphism to weathered wood). Cleaning may be required.
  • Food Oil Stains: These will dissipate over the aging process and wash away during cleaning.
  • Stainless Steel: Use scourer and white oil, along the grain to remove tea staining.

Care & Maintenance

White Beech Timber and Stainless Steel Furniture

To clean timber and maintain its look we suggest:

Wash timber with a mixture of pool chlorine and water, one-third chlorine and two-thirds water (weed spray pump is perfect for this). This is recommended for the older furniture and a weaker mix for newer furniture.

There is no need to oil this timber and especially do not use linseed oil. However if you would like to change the colour, use a quality decking oil and wipe off excess oil from wood.

The basic rule to maintaining your furniture is to “treat it like your pots and pans”. Wash it regularly (not with high pressure machines) rinse and let it drip dry. A good wash in the rain is also healthy for the timber as it revitalise the wood and cleans it beautifully.

Your furniture is for enjoyment, don’t use it for a ladder or a tool to work off and it will keep you company for ages. Please do not drag it around.

Please recycle all packaging (plastic bags can be used as bin liners, cardboard can be recycled by Visy at your local Garbage tip).

Enjoy what came from our earth to give you comfort and style.
